About the TSC Promotional Vacancies
The Teachers Service Commission is established under Article 237(1) of the Constitution of Kenya and is responsible for matters relating to teachers’ employment and management within the public education sector.

1. Deputy Principal III (Regular)

The Teachers Service Commission is recruiting 132 Deputy Principal III (Regular) positions. This is a promotional opportunity for serving teachers seeking to take up a senior school leadership role within the secondary education system.
A Deputy Principal III supports the overall administration and management of a school. The position works closely with the principal to ensure that school programmes, academic activities and day-to-day operations are coordinated effectively.
The role also supports the management of teachers, learners and other school activities. It contributes to academic coordination by assisting with the implementation of teaching programmes, monitoring learning activities and supporting efforts aimed at improving academic performance.
The position has responsibilities relating to discipline and student welfare. A Deputy Principal III may support activities that promote a positive school environment, orderly conduct and adherence to school rules.
As part of the school leadership team, the successful candidate may also support institutional planning, school calendars, internal meetings, learner activities and other administrative arrangements. Successful candidates will be posted to schools where vacancies exist.
2. Senior Master II

The Teachers Service Commission has advertised 29 Senior Master II vacancies. The position is classified under Grade D1 and T-Scale 11 and is available to suitably qualified serving teachers in accordance with the Career Progression Guidelines for Teachers.
The Senior Master II position is a senior teaching and leadership role within a school. It supports academic coordination, learner development and the effective implementation of school programmes.
A Senior Master II may coordinate designated academic, administrative or student-focused functions assigned by the school leadership. The role also supports academic planning and activities designed to improve the quality of education offered by the institution.
The position may contribute to the supervision and coordination of teachers within assigned areas. It is expected to work collaboratively with the principal, deputy principal, heads of departments and other staff members.
In addition to classroom and academic responsibilities, the Senior Master II role supports learner welfare, discipline and co-curricular activities where assigned. Successful candidates will be posted by the Teachers Service Commission to schools with vacancies.
3. Deputy Headteacher II (Regular)

The Teachers Service Commission is recruiting 1,470 Deputy Headteacher II (Regular) positions, making this the largest category in the current promotional recruitment.
The Deputy Headteacher II role supports the headteacher in the administration, management and academic coordination of a primary school. The position helps coordinate teachers, learners and school programmes while supporting the effective implementation of teaching and learning activities.
The role supports academic planning and the implementation of the school timetable and learning activities. A Deputy Headteacher II may assist in monitoring learner progress, supporting teachers in the delivery of instructional programmes and helping the school leadership identify areas requiring attention.
The position also contributes to school discipline and learner welfare. It may assist with routine learner matters, communication with parents or guardians and initiatives that promote attendance, positive behaviour and learner development.
As part of the school leadership team, the Deputy Headteacher II may support record management, internal meetings, co-curricular activities and other duties assigned by the headteacher. Successful candidates will be deployed to institutions where vacancies exist.
