AI agent Instinct has raised $1 billion in a Series C round at a $10 billion valuation. The raise comes just one month after the company announced a fundraise that valued it at $2.5 billion. Investors in the round include Sequoia Capital, Benchmark Capital, and Coatue.

The fundraising news was reported earlier this month. In a press release on Monday, AI agent Instinct confirmed the Series C round — a remarkably quick growth round for a startup that only launched its invite-only service in August 2026.

Why Investors Are Betting Big on AI agent Instinct

The rapid fundraises demonstrate the fervor around a new class of consumer AI agents. These agents can not only answer questions and engage in conversations, but can actually get things done for their users. That includes booking travel plans or restaurant reservations, making purchases, paying bills, canceling subscriptions, conducting tedious research, ordering groceries, and more.

When asked to perform a task, AI agent Instinct uses its own phone number and computer. This means the agent operates independently rather than relying on a user’s device or accounts for every action.

The company recently rolled out other new features. One is a “concierge” that can make phone calls for you, to manage things like making appointments at places that don’t offer online booking. Another is a “trusted person network,” which allows one person’s AI agent Instinct to coordinate plans with their friends’ agents.

New Features and Capabilities

These capabilities mark a shift from chatbots that simply generate text. AI agent Instinct is designed to take action across real-world services, handling tasks that would otherwise require a person’s time and attention.

The “concierge” feature is particularly notable because it addresses a common gap. Many businesses still require a phone call for appointments, reservations, or inquiries, and AI agent Instinct can handle those calls directly.

The “trusted person network” adds a social layer. Instead of one person manually coordinating with friends, their respective agents can communicate and arrange plans together. This points to a future where AI agents interact not just with services, but with each other.

Privacy Questions Surround AI agent Instinct

However, these capabilities come at a cost. Some users are questioning the amount of personal information they have to disclose to AI agents to gain access to such capabilities. AI agent Instinct’s initial version of its privacy policy was particularly worrisome due to its overreach. The policy has since been updated.

The concern is not unique to AI agent Instinct. Any assistant that books flights, pays bills, or manages appointments needs access to sensitive details. How that data is stored, shared, and protected remains a central question for the entire category.

Competition From Meta’s Muse

Despite its AI assistant’s viral adoption, AI agent Instinct is now facing fresh competition from Meta’s own AI assistant, Muse. Muse offers many similar features, plus a system that can deeply integrate with Meta’s social products.

That means Muse can do much of what AI agent Instinct does, as well as tasks like monitoring and summarizing your Instagram DMs or Facebook Groups, keeping an eye on Marketplace listings, and more. Such capabilities have sent Muse to the top of the U.S. app stores, where it has been downloaded millions of times.

AI agent Instinct, which uses SMS and texting to communicate with its users, doesn’t have a mobile app yet. The startup has also not shared its user numbers or any growth metrics. Still, its investors are clearly seeing something they like, given the speed and size of the latest round.

What Founder Noah Shinn Says

AI agent Instinct declined to offer interviews with founder Noah Shinn alongside the fundraising news. However, the company shared a statement attributed to him.

“We’re building Instinct to be the best personal agent that can handle the deeply personal nuances of everyday life,” Shinn said. “This funding helps us bring Instinct to more people and continue building the future of personal AI. It’s an exciting, creative time, and we’re just getting started.”

What’s Next for AI agent Instinct

With $1 billion in new funding and a $10 billion valuation, AI agent Instinct has significant resources to expand. The company could build a mobile app, grow its user base, and deepen the capabilities of its agent.

The competitive landscape is already crowded. Meta’s Muse has distribution advantages through Meta’s social platforms, and other tech companies are racing to launch their own consumer agents. For AI agent Instinct, the challenge will be turning viral attention into lasting retention while addressing privacy concerns head-on.

The broader trend is clear: consumers are increasingly willing to delegate tasks to AI agents. Whether AI agent Instinct can hold its early lead against well-funded rivals will depend on execution, trust, and how quickly it can ship the features users want most.
