Gmail Q&A: Your AI-Powered Email Assistant
Remember the Gemini side panel in the desktop version of Gmail? Well, it's now available on your Android and iOS devices through the Gmail Q&A feature. Initially, Gmail Q&A allowed you to ask questions about your emails, find specific details, and conduct searches.
Now, it's even more powerful. When activated within an email, Q&A can:
- Generate smart replies: Ask Gemini a question about the email, and it will draft a response for you.
- Insert content seamlessly: Gemini can extract information from the email and insert it directly into your reply.
For example, if you ask Gemini to "List the next steps" from an email, it will identify and create action items for you. Then, with a simple tap on the "Insert" button (iOS) or arrow (Android), this list will be pasted into your reply, ready for you to edit and send. This feature has already been rolled out to most users.
Imagen 3: Now with People Generation
Imagen 3, the advanced image generation model within Gemini, has also received a major update. It can now generate images featuring people, adding a new dimension of creativity and realism to your Workspace experience. This capability is available in:
- The Gemini app: (Expected by March 1st)

- Gemini side panel in Google Docs, Sheets, Drive, Slides, and Gmail
- "Help me create" in Google Docs
