Another issue concerns how fingerprint and face unlock interact on OnePlus devices. While face unlock is a fast and easy method, it can sometimes disable the fingerprint sensor before you have a chance to use it. This forces you to switch to face unlock, even if you prefer the fingerprint sensor.
Google's Approach:
Interestingly, Google Pixel devices seem to handle this situation better. If face unlock initiates but fails to recognize the user, the fingerprint sensor area transforms into a button that unlocks the device. This eliminates the need to switch between unlock methods and provides a more seamless experience.
Security Concerns with Face Unlock:
The lack of secure face unlock on the OnePlus 13 further complicates this issue. If you rely on face unlock to access your device, you'll likely need to use your fingerprint again for secure apps like Google Wallet. Allowing fingerprint sensor usage even when face unlock is active would save an extra step and improve the overall workflow.
